
D.C. United Players to Assist with Volkswagen Test Drives

Washington, D.C. (January 30, 2012) - D.C. United and Volkswagen, the club's presenting partner, today announced plans for D.C. United players to assist at the Volkswagen Ride and Drive Event on Saturday, February 4th at the 2012 Washington Auto Show. Dwayne De Rosario, the 2011 Volkswagen MLS MVP, Chris Pontius and Perry Kitchen will lead six other United players participating in the event by riding along as prospective car buyers test drive available 2012 Volkswagen Passats, the 2012 Motor Trend Car of the Year, a 2012 Jetta GLI, 2012 Beetle and a 2012 Tiguan. Player participation will last from 2:00-3:30 p.m.
"D.C. United and Volkswagen have once again collaborated to create a unique partner activation opportunity at the Washington Auto Show," said D.C United Executive Vice President Stephen Zack. "We encourage our fans and those planning to attend the car show to drop by and take a new Volkswagen for a spin."

United partners," said Tim Mahoney, Chief Product and Marketing Officer, Volkswagen of America, Inc. "We see this as a fun experience for the DC area residents to drive a 2012 Volkswagen and mix with the D.C. United players."
