D.C. United Opens 2015-16 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League with 1-0 Road Victory over Árabe Uni

Panama City, Panama (Aug. 19, 2015) - D.C. United (1-0-0, 3 points) began its 2015-16 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League campaign with a 1-0 victory over Panamanian side Árabe Unido (1-1-0, 3 points) at Estadio Maracaná in Panama City, Panama.

The Black-and-Red are tied with the Panamanian side at the top of Group H, ahead of Jamaican side Montego Bay United (0-1-0, zero points), which will visit RFK Stadium on Tuesday, Aug. 25.

Rookie midfielder Miguel Aguilar scored his first professional goal in the 85th, finishing a backheel pass second-half substitute Michael Farfan.

Goalkeeper Andrew Dykstra finished with four saves, and Markus Halsti captained the side for the first time.

D.C. United returns to action Aug. 22 against the San Jose Earthquakes at RFK Stadium (Comcast SportsNet Plus, 7 p.m.).
