The team is led by Argentine coach Jose Pekerman. In addition to the success at this summer's Copa America, Colombia advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Peru, managed by Ricardo Gareca, advanced to the knockout stage of the Copa America by way of a 2-1 win over Venezuela and the tie with Colombia in group play.
