
D.C. United Loan Defender Hayden Sargis to Phoenix Rising FC

WASHINGTON, DC - D.C. United have loaned defender Hayden Sargis to Phoenix Rising FC in the United Soccer League (USL) Championship for the remainder of the 2022 season.
Sargis, 20, joined the Black-and-Red on Jan. 24, 2022 signing a three-year deal through 2024 with options in both 2025 and 2026. The defender from Turlock, CA started his youth career with Barcelona's US-based academy in Arizona in 2015 before signing his first professional contract at the age of 17 with the Sacramento Republic of the United Soccer League (USL) Championship on Jan. 15, 2020.
The 20-year old made his professional debut with Sacramento on March 7, 2020 in a 1-1 draw against FC Tulsa where he started and completed the full 90 minutes. During his time with the Sacramento Republic, Sargis appeared in 33 games recording one assist before being signed by the Black-and-Red.
In 2022, Sargis played in 18 games for Loudoun United FC, D.C. United's USL affiliate, where he helped secure five clean sheets while accumulating 1,101 minutes played. He subsequently made his D.C. United debut on April 19, 2022 in a 3-0 US Open Cup third round win against Flower City Union.
