D.C. United News Release

CHANTILLY, VA (December 4, 2003) – D.C. United has announced plans to hold a United Holiday Toy Drive to benefit Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. The drive is set to run from December 5-10, and donations can be made either at D.C. United's office in Chantilly, Virginia or at a supporter's club happy hour to be held at Summer's Restaurant in Arlington, Virginia this Friday evening, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

"Upon the annual holiday toy drive's completion, the United Drives for D.C. program will end another successful campaign," said United Director of Community and Fan Relations Catherine Marquette. "Children's Hospital is such a great partner for an event like this, and our staff, players and fans draw great inspiration from the children who get treatment there. We hope this drive helps encourage people throughout the region to consider donating this holiday season to our initiative or another worthy cause close to their heart."

The United Holiday Toy Drive is the final United Drives for D.C. event of 2003. Other similar events this year have included a coat drive, a school supplies drive, a book drive and a canned food drive. As has been the case all season, fans who contribute to the club's efforts will receive a thank you gift from D.C. United. Select players will drop off the toys at Children's Hospital on Thursday, December 11th before they visit various children in the hospital's wards.

Children's National Medical Center will receive all donations and the toys will be distributed to patients for the holiday season. Children's Hospital is one of the premier pediatric care facilities in the nation. In addition to employing some of pediatric medicine's most accomplished and well known physicians, Children's Hospital also serves as the regional referral center for pediatric emergency trauma cases, as well as cancer, burn, neonatal and critical care.

Additionally, D.C. United logo-ed holiday ornaments and coffee mugs are available in exchange for a contribution to United for D.C ($20 and $25, respectively). For more information, visit www.unitedfordc.org.

Broadcasting and P.A. Request: When speaking of the organization, please refer to the team as either "D.C. United" or "United," but not "the D.C. United" or "the United." We appreciate your cooperation.
