Player Notes
United midfielder Paul Arriola scored his fifth goal of the season in the 25th minute. The goal was Arriola's first since he recorded a brace in United's 3-1 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps in the Audi Field opener on July 14.
Luciano Acosta recorded his 13th assist of 2018 when he assisted Arriola's goal. With his assist, Acosta becomes the first United player to reach 13 assists in a season since Jaime Moreno recorded 14 in 2004.
Acosta also recorded his eighth goal of the season when he scored in the 87th minute. Acosta has seven goals and five assists in his last 10 games.
United captain Wayne Rooney scored his fifth goal of 2018 in the 64th minute. Since debuting with the team on July 14, Rooney has scored five goals and added six assists in 13 appearances with the Black-and-Red.
Oniel Fisher tallied his first assist of the season when he assisted Rooney's 64th minute goal. The assist is Fisher's second in MLS and first since since July 13, 2016 when he was a member of the Seattle Sounders.
Júnior Moreno recorded his third assist of the 2018 campaign when he assisted Rooney's 64th minute goal.
Yamil Asad returned from injury and made his first appearance since Aug. 26 when he came in as a substitute in the 63rd minute.
Asad recorded his sixth assist of the season when assisted Acosta's 87th minute goal.
