United defender Jalen Robinson made his first start for the Black-and-Red since the 3-3 draw against the New York Red Bulls on Sept. 16.
Midfielder Chris Durkin made his 15th start for the Black-and-Red. It was Durkin's first start since the 2-1 win over Minnesota United on Sept. 12.
Zoltán Stieber returned to the United starting XI for the first time since the 3-1 victory over Atlanta United on Sept. 2.
United midfielder Russell Canouse scored his first MLS goal in the 86th minute.
Goalkeeper Bill Hamid recorded his third shutout of the season after a five-save performance against Dallas.
