D.C. United Announce 34-Game MLS Regular Season Schedule
January 7, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
D.C. United News Release
D.C. United enter their 24th season in Major League Soccer and their first full-season at their new state-of-the-art and soccer-specific stadium at Audi Field. United posted an impressive 12-2-1 record at Audi Field in their inaugural season in a run that saw them ascend from the bottom of the Eastern Conference to a fourth place finish and qualification to the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs.
The Black-and-Red previously announced their home opener at Audi Field with D.C. United taking on Audi 2018 MLS Cup Champions Atlanta United on Sunday, March 3 at 6 PM ET on ESPN.
Major League Soccer announced all 34 fixtures for the upcoming regular season and the Black-and-Red are featured in 13 nationally televised matches in their second year at Audi Field.
The debut of MLS' 24th club, FC Cincinnati, highlights a 2019 season that includes new and renovated stadiums, increased coverage of major events, more primetime matchups, and expanded flex scheduling options for U.S. networks. It also sees the advent of the new fixed-bracket, single-elimination playoff format with the higher seed hosting every match, which significantly increases the importance of the regular season. In the 2019 season each club plays 34 games (17 home and 17 away), facing conference opponents twice, and playing each non-conference opponent once.
United open their season against Atlanta United at Audi Field on March 3 at 6 PM ET then travel to Yankee Stadium to take on New York City FC in their home opener on March 10 at 3 PM ET. United will conclude their 2019 regular season at Audi Field against FC Cincinnati on Oct. 6 at 4:00 PM ET.
