
D.C. United and Danny Allsopp Part Ways

Washington, D.C. (November 15, 2010) - D.C. United announced today that it has reached an agreement with Danny Allsopp to mutually terminate the forward's contract. In his only season in Washington, Allsopp played in 23 Major League Soccer contests (18 starts), recording 5 goals in 1,456 minutes on the pitch.
"We would like to thank Danny for his contributions to D.C. United and we wish him well in the future," said United General Manager Dave Kasper.
Allsopp joined United from Qatari side Al-Rayyan on January 18, 2010. Allsopp tied 2010 MLS Rookie of the Year Andy Najar for the team lead in goals with five, including a club-best three game winners. In 2009 the Australian scored six goals in 12 matches for Al-Rayyan after leaving Hyndai A-League club Melbourne Victory. Allsopp played four seasons in Melbourne, winning the 2006 Golden Boot for his 12 goals. Previously he featured in England for the likes of Manchester City, Hull City, and Notts County. Internationally Allsopp has three caps for Australia, making his senior team debut in a 2007 friend against Uruguay.
