D.C. United News Release
WASHINGTON, D.C. - D.C. United and The Museum DC have announced a collaboration on a new line of merchandise for Black-and-Red fans that encapsulates the spirit of sport combined with the distinct lifestyle fashion in the District. The new merchandise has been carefully curated by The Museum DC at Audi Field on Saturday, April 27 ahead of the Black-and-Red's match against the Seattle Sounders. The pop-up will be located at the D.C. United club shop. The collection will also be available to purchase online at MLSStore.com starting on April 27 at 10 a.m. ET.
"Our club is beyond excited to partner with The Museum DC to bring our fans a collection of apparel that combines fashion in the District with D.C. United fandom," Lisa Franklin, D.C. United Chief Marketing Officer, said. "We are thrilled with how this collection has evolved and we think our fans will be equally as excited. This clothing line transcends sports, and it is our hope that it will also appeal to a wider audience. Not only will fans get access to an exclusive collection, but this collaboration will also help serve our community with a portion of proceeds from the sales going back to DC SCORES; a vital non-profit organization that provides free access to soccer, poetry, and more for the local youth."
The Museum DC, a local Black-owned business, is a premium retail boutique and event space that caters to enthusiasts who use fashion and art as sources of inspiration. Located in the Northeast section of Washington, D.C., the boutique is designed as an art gallery to promote creativity and expression.
"Our brand is rooted in the vibrant tapestry of Washington, D.C.'s creative essence," LeGreg Harrison, The Museum DC Co-t, said. "Our Museum DC x D.C. United collection is a celebration of urban streetwear heritage and artistic innovation. Every stitch, every line, and every detail within this collaboration embodies the spirit of our capital city, intertwining history with modernity in a seamless fusion of style and substance. From the exclusive letterman jacket to the meticulously placed misdirected logos, each element reflects a thoughtful curation of design that pays homage to our city's dynamic energy and diverse influences. This collection is more than just apparel; it's a visual narrative, a wearable art piece that encapsulates the essence of D.C. with every thread."
Fans can expect to see bold designs and a more extensive range of gender-inclusive designs and sizes, ensuring everyone can find something that represents their unique style.
