Who: Cyclones v. Toledo Storm
What: Game three of best-of-five North Division semifinals
Where: U.S. Bank Arena
When: Thursday, April 19, 7:30pm
Why: To determine one of the finalists for the North Division finals series (best-of-seven) that will start next week.
How: Cincinnati leads the series, 2-0, and a win Thursday night will put the Cyclones into the North Division finals for the second time in club history (2002-03 was the other time).
About the Cyclones: The club won the first two games of the set in Toledo last week (3-1 and 7-3). Rookie Scott Reynolds paced the offense with two goals and two assists, while goaltender Cedrick Desjardins stopped 69 of the 73 shots he faced. Cincinnati's power play is operating at the ECHL's fourth-best conversion rate in the postseason at 30 percent (three-of-ten).
About the Storm: Toledo has just announced that its franchise will suspend operations at the end of the season and have a new building erected and will resume play in 2009. Scooter Smith, Dan Watson and Nick Parillo scored the goals for the Storm in the last game. Toledo is the defending North Division regular season and playoff champion.
Around The North...: In the other North Division semifinal series, Dayton has a two games to none edge over Trenton in their best-of-five series. Game three is Thursday in Trenton.
