Cyclones Double Up Tigers

The Cyclones beat the Oneonta Tigers , 4-2, on Wednesday, thanks to timely offense and solid pitching. Dillon Gee started for the Cyclones, and pitched four innings, allowing only one earned run on two hits, while striking out four batters. The bullpen sustained the lead with a combination of solid outings, headed by Steve Cheney and Dan McDonald, to give the Cyclones the victory.

Brooklyn jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning with an RBI single by J.R. Voyles, plating Jason Jacobs. In the fourth inning, Raul Reyes scored on a wild pitch to put the Cyclones up 2-1. Brooklyn tacked on two more runs in the sixth inning thanks to an RBI single by Matt Bouchard and a fielding error by Oneonta's third baseman.

Lucas Duda, Reyes Bouchard all had big nights at the plate for the Cyclones. Duda went 2-for-3 with a walk and a double, while Reyes went 3-for-4 with a double. Bouchard went 2-for-2 with a double, a walk and an RBI single.

The Cyclones face the Oneonta Tigers again on Thursday Night, on Bark in the Park/Medieval Times Night at KeySpan Park. Dog owners are invited to bring their furry friends to the game (one $6 bleacher seat for the owner and one for the dog). The kingihts of Medieval Times will also be on hand to battle for the hand of the royal princess (including a post-game joust). And in addition, the first 2,500 fans will receive a visor, courtesy of Pepsi.
