Williamsport Crosscutters News Release

Calling all talent! The Williamsport Crosscutters are looking for local performers to compete for a $500 top prize in Cutters Star Search presented by the Williamsport Sun-Gazette.

"We are very happy to have the Williamsport Sun-Gazette partner with us in this new endeavor as we look for fun and interesting entertainment to offer our fans", stated Gabe Sinicropi, the Cutters Vice-President of Marketing. "We just thought, why not give our local talent the opportunity to shine, while also providing them with the opportunity to win some money? We are hoping to feature a great cross-section of entertainment types"

"This is a partnership. Both of us working together, not only to promote the Crosscutters but also to promote the many talented performers in our area", stated Sun-Gazette publisher Bernard A. Oravec.

Cutters Star Search competitions will take place before Cutters home games in 2009. Each night will feature a performance by a local act. The act will then be rated on a scale of 1-10 by 100 random fans.

The top three rated acts will be invited back to compete on September 5th and be rated by a special panel of judges with the top-rated act collecting a $500 1st prize.

Types of eligible acts/performances include; singing, musical, dancing, magic, or most any other interesting talent. Performance time is limited to 3 minutes.

Prospective acts must fill out an official application form that can be picked up at the Crosscutters offices at Historic Bowman Field, at the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, 252 W. Fourth St. or online at www.crosscutters.com. Acts chosen to compete will then be contacted and scheduled. Space is limited to 36 acts, so those interested are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible.

Interested performers who desire more information about Cutters Star Search can call the Cutters Hotline at (570) 326-3389.
