Mahoning Valley Scrappers News Release
Niles, OH - The Mahoning Valley Scrappers are excited to kick-off the 2009 season with Fan Fest on Saturday, May 2 from 10-3 at Eastwood Field. This is the first opportunity to purchase individual game tickets for the 2009 season.
The Scrappers will also be looking for performers. We will be holding open try-outs for National Anthem singers during Fan Fest from 10-2. Fans will also be able to purchase Scrappers merchandise with the NEW logo for the upcoming season, and enjoy $1 hot dogs, soft drinks, and beer.
In addition, during Fan Fest, the Scrappers will be hosting a FREE Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run competition from 11-3. Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2009 MLB All-Star Game. All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and fill out a registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition.
This season the Scrappers will not be raising single game ticket prices. Individual game tickets will run between seven and nine dollars, making Scrappers baseball the most affordable entertainment value in the Mahoning Valley.
