Cutters Fall for Second Straight Night
June 2, 2023 - Major League Baseball Draft League (MLBDL)
Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The State College Spikes used a four-run fourth inning to beat the Williamsport Crosscutters 6-2 in Game 2 of the opening four-game series of the year at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
The Cutters took the initial lead of the ballgame in the top of the 3rd off the bat of Tyrese Johnson, driving a pair of runners across with a hard-hit double. Unfortunately, that would be the only time in the game Williamsport would find the plate on a night where they struck out twelve times.
State College would respond by scoring two runs in the third inning to tie the game and wrapped up the scoring plating their final four runs of the night in the fourth inning.
The Cutters' pitching staff showed some promise, striking out 14 Spikes through the night while allowing 6 runs, 3 earned, on 8 hits and walking 8 batters as a staff.
