Bridgewater, New Jersey - The Altoona Curve (38-30) defeated the Somerset Patriots (42-28) 7-1 before 5,189 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday evening.

After a Cal Mitchell sacrifice fly put the Curve up in the second inning, Diego Castillo plated Somerset's lone run in the game on an RBI double in the third.

Then it was all Altoona with three home runs. Mitchell went deep with a three-run shot (11) in the sixth to claim the lead.

Mason Martin (19) and Daniel Amaral (4) then went back-to-back in the seventh.

Cam Vieaux (W, 5-1) picked up the win after he allowed an earned run on three hits in six innings pitched. Ken Waldichuk (L, 3-1) suffered the loss with three earned runs on five hits and six strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work.

The Patriots and the Curve finish their six-game series on Sunday with a 5:05 pm game at TD Bank Ballpark.
