Curve game suspended at Erie Monday night

ERIE, PA -Monday's game between the Altoona Curve and Erie SeaWolves was suspended in the bottom of the third inning due to rain in the Erie area with SeaWolves leading the Curve, 3-0. The suspended game will be resumed tomorrow as part of a make shift doubleheader at 6:05 PM.

The SeaWolves took a 2-0 lead in the second inning off Curve starter Paul Stewart on a two-run home run off the bat of Mike Woods, his fifth of the season. Juan Tejeda hit his ninth home run of the season in the third inning to make it 3-0 before the rain came. Erie starter Justin Verlander allowed just one hit through three innings.

Left hander Paul Maholm (5-2) is scheduled to start game two of the doubleheader for Altoona. He will be opposed by Erie righty Humberto Sanchez (3-3).
