ALTOONA, Pa - The Altoona Curve bats were silenced by the Bowie Baysox in the nightcap of a doubleheader on Saturday night, falling 5-0. The loss is the third straight for the Curve.

Right-hander Sean Smith was tagged with the loss after he tossed five plus innings, allowing five runs on five hits. The big hit came in the top of the sixth inning when he permitted a grand slam to Bowie's Mike Costanzo.

The Altoona Curve bats were stymied all night long by duo of righties Fredy Deza and James Hoey. Deza allowed just three hits over 5.0 innings, while Hoey tossed 2.0 scoreless and hitless innings, striking out three batters.

The Altoona Curve (26-49) will return to action on Sunday night at 6:05 p.m. in the fourth game of the five-game series. On the mound for Altoona will be LHP Kyle Bloom (1-4, 3.26) while the Baysox (41-33) will counter with righty Tim Bascom (2-0, 1.89). Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. and all fans can enjoy a spectacular post-game fireworks show. All kids ages 14 and under can run the bases.
