Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons extended their home winning streak to seven games on Saturday, defeating the Las Vegas Wranglers 6-2 in front of 6,185 fans at Save Mart Center. It was the first game in the six-game season series to be decided in regulation.
The Falcons scored the lone goal of the first period at 16:07. Kenny MacAulay took a long shot from the right point, which was deflected past goaltender Kevin Lalande by Luke Curtin, who recorded his seventh goal of the season.
Fresno added to its lead with a power-play goal 4:54 into the second period. John Morlang's pass was knocked down, but it deflected right back to him, and he beat Lalande with a wrist shot from the right-wing circle to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead.
Las Vegas cut its deficit in half with a power-play goal of its own at 6:24. Jason Jozsa fed Adam Cracknell in the left-wing circle, and he had his shot deflected past Kris Mayotte by Bruce Mulherin who picked up his ninth of the season.
