Cubs pound Sky Sox 16-3

The Iowa Cubs pounded out 20 hits, a season high given up by the Sox, in a 16-3 rout of the Sky Sox Wednesday night. Sox starter Chris Michalak was roughed up for 14 runs, 10 earned, on 15 hits in 5 innings of work. The lone bright spot for the Sox was Kit Pellow's 2 -run home run in the first, his second in 2 days. The Sox and Cubs will wrap up their 4-game series tomorrow night at Sky Sox stadium. The Sox will send Chris Gissell (3-1, 3.28) to the mound to face the Cubs Matt Bruback (4-8, 4.25).
