C's pound out 17 hits in 11-9 victory over Salem-Keizer

(Volcanoes Stadium - Keizer, OR) - Seven Canadians had a multi-hit night on Saturday helping Vancouver (7-2) to an 11-9 victory over the Volcanoes (1-8) in Keizer, Oregon.

Vancouver scored four runs in the top of the 1st inning setting the tone for the offensive outburst.

The big blow coming from LF Steve McQuail who hit his 3rd home run of the season off of Volcanoes starter RHP Kendry Flores who went just three innings before the C's offense chased him from Saturday's game.

Canadians CF Jon Jones (.429) had four hits off of Volcanoes pitching and now has five multi-hit games in just over a week for Vancouver.

In addition to Jones, 3B Balbino Fuenmayor, LF Steve McQuail, RF Nick Baligod, 1B Randy Schwartz, DH Nick Boike and C Luis Hurtado had at least two hits each with Schwartz and Hurtado grabbing a pair of RBI in the victory.

With the win, Vancouver improves to 7-2 (.777) on the season and remain in a tie for top spot in the Northwest League's West Division as Eugene (7-2) opened up a three-game series in Everett (3-6) getting past the Aquasox 5-4 at Memorial Stadium. Note: With the loss to Vancouver, the Volcanoes have now lost eight straight games which sets a franchise record.
