
Crunch Ink Drew Olson and Maxime Langelier-Parent to AHL Deals

Syracuse, NY The Syracuse Crunch have signed defenseman Drew Olson and center Maxime Langelier-Parent to a one-year AHL deal Crunch General Manager Julien BriseBois announced today.
Olson, 23, skated in five games with the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League last season, collecting one assist and two penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 200-pound defenseman played four seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, recording three goals and 21 points in 147 games. He was a member of the University of Minnesota-Duluth team that won the Frozen Four in 2011 and also served as an alternate captain with the Bulldogs during the 2012-13 season. Olson was drafted in the fourth round, 118th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Tampa acquired his rights last July.
Langelier-Parent, 25, earned three goals in three games last year for the Florida Everblades before being sidelined by an injury. The 6-foot-1, 217-pound center played four seasons for McGill University, collecting 75 points (26g, 49a) in 105 regular season games. The Lery, QC native played in 23 career post season contests for the Redmen, totaling 13 points (10g, 3a). Langelier-Parent also served as an alternate captain for the Redmen.
The Crunch kick-off the 2013-14 season with a visit to the Binghamton Senators on Oct. 5 followed by their Upstate University Hospital home opener on Oct. 12 against the Rochester Americans.
