Amerks Sign Forward Alex Hutchings to PTO

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has signed forward Alex Hutchings to a professional tryout contract.

Hutchings, 22, appeared in 24 AHL games with the Syracuse Crunch last season, recording six points (3+3) and 10 penalty minutes. He also scored 34 points (14+20) in 40 games with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. A native of Burlington, Ontario, Hutchings has played in 37 career AHL games with Syracuse and Norfolk, collecting 11 points (5+6). The 5-foot-10, 184-pound Hutchings was originally selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the fourth round (93rd overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
