Williamsport took the final game of the 2012 season with an 8-4 win over Pinckney Division champs Auburn Wednesday night

Jeb Stefan delivered a strong start as the Cutters used a big six-run second inning to take an early 7-1 lead. Stefan struck out six and allowed just one run on three hits in five innings without allowing a walk.

Cameron Perkins finished the year batting .304, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and a double in the finale.

After Auburn took a 1-0 lead in the second inning, Williamsport answered when Larry Greene scored on an error by Doubledays starter Ivan Pineyro.

Pineyro was roughed up for seven runs on nine hits in just 2.2 innings. Six of those runs came in the third inning.

Perkins hit a double to left field to score Roman Quinn and give the Cutters the lead. Chris Serritella then followed with an RBI-single up the middle. After Greene singled and Mitch Walding walked, Logan Moore made it 4-1 with a line-drive RBI-single to left. Kevin Quaranto then broke it open with a two-run single to the warning track in left-center. Tyler Greene then capped the inning with an RBI-double to make it 7-1.

Auburn cut it to 7-2, but the Perkins drove in Jiandido Tromp in the sixth to make it 8-2.

The Doubledays added two runs in the eighth inning, but Steven Inch locked down the final win of the season.

The Crosscutters finish the year 30-46 in sixth place in the Pinckney Division.
