Cronin Promoted to White Sox on Monday

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - The Charlotte Knights announced two roster moves on Monday, September 4.

RHP Declan Cronin was recalled by the Chicago White Sox today. This is his second promotion to Chicago this season. Cronin, 25, posted a 3-0 record with two saves and a 3.62 ERA this season with the Knights in 49.2 innings pitched. His 45 appearances are the most by a Charlotte pitcher this season. He is 0-0 with a 7.71 ERA in five games with the White Sox this season (7.0 IP). He made his major-league debut with the White Sox on July 30 vs. Cleveland. He was originally selected by the White Sox in the 36th round of the June 2019 First-Year Player Draft out of the College of Holy Cross.

C Seby Zavala was returned to the Chicago White Sox today from his MLB Rehab Assignment. Zavala, was then designated for assignment by the White Sox. He appeared in eight games with the Knights on his rehab stint and hit .227 (5-for-22) with two runs scored, one home run and two RBI. Zavala, 29, appeared in 66 games with the White Sox this year and hit .155 (25-for-161) with 15 runs scored, three doubles, seven home runs and 16 RBI. He was drafted by the White Sox in the 12th round of the June 2015 First-Year Player Draft out of San Diego State University.
