C.J. Cron hit another 2 HRs, and Ryan Jones had 5 RBIs in a 17-3 blowout win over the Ogden Raptors on Friday night.

The former Utah Ute continues to swing a hot bat, as Cron went deep twice tonight and had 6 RBIs. Cron now has six home runs in his last three games against Ogden (1-5).

"I've been seeing the ball well lately...it was just a good night," said Cron.

"He's got a tool you can't teach, which is plus, plus power," said Manager Tom Kotchman.

The Owlz (4-2) got one in the top of the first on a RBI single by Cron after loading the bases with nobody out. However, the Owlz capitalized in a big way in the 2nd inning with the bases loaded and one out. Jerod Yakubik singled in Andrew Ray, Jones tripled in three, and Cron singled in Jones. Yakubik finished 3-for-5 with two runs and 1 RBI, while Jones finished 3-for-5 with three runs and 5 RBI. The triple by Jones was one of Kotchman's keys to the victory.

"Those are momentum changes," said Kotchman.

The Owlz got four runs in the 5th on RBIs by Brandon Brewer, Taylor Lindsey, Jones and Kaleb Cowart. Lindsey continued his hot hitting, going 3-for-6 with three runs and 3 RBI, including a 2-run homer in the 3rd.

Ryan Crowley started for Orem and fired three scoreless innings, while Baudilio Lopez (2-5) picked up for him and went four innings, giving up two runs.

The Owlz have now won their last three games versus Ogden and will try and continue that streak Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. It is Hootz and Holly's anniversary tomorrow night, and the game will be followed with post-game fireworks.
