Crew Returns to Training Tomorrow

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The start of the 2003 Major League Soccer season, its eighth, is just 12 days away. Major League Soccer's opening day is Saturday, April 5, when U.S. Open Cup Champion Columbus takes on the defending MLS Cup Champion Los Angeles Galaxy at 4 p.m. at Columbus Crew Stadium. The game is the only MLS game played that day and will be televised live on ABC Sports.

After advancing to the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup on Sunday with a 3-0 win (4-2 two-game, total-goals) over Deportivo Arabe Unido of Panama, The Crew returns to training on Tuesday, March 25, and will shift its focus to the start of the MLS season.

The Crew will take on the University of Dayton in an exhibition on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Obetz, and then train at 10 a.m. the rest of the week before leaving for Oklahoma on Friday afternoon. The Crew will take on the Kansas City Wizards in an exhibition match at 8 p.m. (ET) in Edmond, Oklahoma.

After returning from Oklahoma, Crew Week VIII will kick off on Monday, March 31 and lead up to The Crew's and Major League Soccer's opening day. The entire Crew Week VIII schedule will be released tomorrow, including information on a Wednesday, April 2, Media Day and Game at Crew Stadium.
