COMMERCE CITY, Co. - The Columbus Crew (4-5-8, 20 points) earned a key road point in a 1-1 draw against the Colorado Rapids (7-5-5, 26 points) at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Friday. The draw extends the Crew's unbeaten run to four matches dating back to June 4 against Real Salt Lake.

After a scoreless first half, the Rapids got on the board first in the 59th minute when Eric Gehrig inadvertently knocked a cross by Marvell Wynne behind goalkeeper Steve Clark.

The Crew leveled the match in the 76th minute thanks to Ethan Finlay, who returned post-appendectomy to find his fourth tally in his last six League matches. The goal would hold up as enough to secure a point for the Crew on Independence Day.

The Black & Gold return to action with a road test against the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena on Saturday, July 12 (7:00 p.m. ET / Time Warner Cable SportsChannel).
