(New Britain, CT)-Evan Crawford retired all six men he faced with four strikeouts to nail down a 5-4 win for the Fisher Cats on Tuesday night at New Britain Stadium. It was the first save of the season for the 24-year old southpaw.

After the Rock Cats took a 1-0 lead on Michael Hollimon's homer to lead off the bottom of the first inning, John Tolisano (2-for-4, HR, 2B, 2 RBI) put the Fisher Cats (56-46) up with a two-run shot off losing pitcher Deinys Suarez (1-5) in the second.

In the top of the fifth inning, Justin Jackson (2-for-4, R) singled and Jonathan Diaz singled with both runners moving up when the ball hopped past right fielder Chris Parmelee for an error. Anthony Gose walked to load the bases. Mike McDade (2-for-5, RBI) grounded out as Jackson scored to make it 3-1. Diaz and Gose both scored on a wild pitch to put the Fisher Cats up by four runs.

The Rock Cats (52-49) rallied in the sixth inning. Nate Hanson doubled, ending the night for winning pitcher and New Hampshire starter B. J. LaMura (5-4). Joe Benson singled off reliever Rey Gonzalez to make it 5-2. Yangervis Solarte followed with a single, Jair Fernandez singled to make it 5-3 and Deibinson Romero followed with an RBI double. After an intentional walk to mark Dolenc, Chris Cates flied to Justin Jackson in left, who then gunned down Fernandez trying to score the tying run for an inning-ending double play.

LaMura worked five innings, allowing two runs on four hits. He walked three and struck out four to win his first start since May 26. Crawford took over in the eighth and struck out the side. He also set down New Britain in order in the ninth to preserve the win.
