Cozens Named to Team Canada World Junior Camp

LETHBRIDGE, AB - Hockey Canada announced Thursday their 46-player roster for the 2021 National Junior Team Selection Camp and Lethbridge Hurricanes captain Dylan Cozens was listed.

Cozens, 19, represented Canada at the 2020 World Junior Championship in the Czech Republic where he helped Canada capture a gold medal. He is one of six returnees from last year's championship team to attend the camp. The Whitehorse, Yukon product appeared in seven games totaling nine points (2g-7a) while adding a goal in the championship game against the Russians. Cozens has represented the nation at the Under-20, Under-18 and Under-17 levels during his career thus far.

The first overall pick of the Buffalo Sabres in 2019, Cozens has appeared in 179 career regular season games with the Hurricanes collecting 223 points (95g-128a) along with a plus-49 rating and 88 penalty minutes. The 6'3, 190-pound centerman had a career year in 2019-2020 totaling 85 points (35g-47a) in just 51 regular season games. Cozens has also appeared in 35 WHL post-season games accumulating 29 points (14g-15a) along with 16 penalty minutes.

In total, 15 WHL players were named to the selection camp that will take place from November 16 until December 13 in Red Deer. The 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship will begin on Christmas Day in Edmonton, while Canada will begin their schedule on Boxing Day against Germany.
