EDINBURG, TX- After almost coming back in the final inning of last night's game, the Coyote's bats came alive early in Game 2 as they crushed the Amarillo Dillas 11-2 Saturday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.

Coyote's ace Eric Montoya went on the mound for the first time in the season and pitched a solid game allowing no runs in his five inning outing. On the other hand, Dillas starting pitcher Josh Smith struggled in his debut as he allowed eight runs in three innings pitched.

The Coyotes got things rolling early in the game as they took a one run lead in the bottom of the first after Angelo Fermin singled to center field and scored off an RBI double from Gary Roche.

Coyotes struck again in the second after scoring two runs off of three hits but broke the game wide open in the next game as they brought in five runs off of five hits.

The Dillas managed to put up a run in the sixth inning as Gary Schneidmiller came into score off an RBI single to right field from AJ Johnson. Coyotes put three more runs up on the board in the bottom of the seventh as Jermaine Williams, Patrick Gaylord and Nick Aranda all came into score.

Dillas put up another run in the eighth inning, but by then, Coyotes were up by nine. Montoya picked up his first win in the season and Smith picked up the loss.
