Arizona Sundogs News Release
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League announced Wednesday that NHL parent club the Phoenix Coyotes has recalled defenseman Sean Zimmerman to the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.
Zimmerman, 21, has accumulated three assists and 20 penalty minutes (PIM) in 20 appearances with Arizona this season.
A sixth round draft pick (170th overall) of the New Jersey Devils in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Zimmerman spent a majority of the 2007-08 season with New Jersey's triple-A American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Lowell Devils. In 66 games with Lowell last season, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound defenseman registered six assists and 47 PIM. Zimmerman also appeared in eight games with Trenton (ECHL), the Devils' double-A affiliate, and collected one assist and 10 PIM.
The Phoenix Coyotes acquired Zimmerman this summer in a trade for former Coyotes prospect and Sundogs forward Kevin Cormier.
