
Coyotes Name Brian Pellerin as Rampage Assistant Coach

SAN ANTONIO (August 23, 2010) - Phoenix Coyotes Assistant General Manager and General Manager of the San Antonio Rampage Brad Treliving today announced that the Coyotes have named Brian Pellerin as assistant coach of the Rampage, the Coyotes' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. Pellerin joins Rampage head coach Ray Edwards and assistant coach Jeff Truitt to round out San Antonio's coaching staff.
Pellerin, 40, joins the Rampage from the Amarillo Gorillas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) where he worked as head coach for the past two seasons. He was named head coach of the Gorillas in January 2009 serving as a mid-season replacement. Prior to joining the Gorillas staff as a head coach, Pellerin worked as an assistant coach with the Portland Winter Hawks for four seasons (2004-08). The Hinton, Alberta native began his coaching career as a player assistant with Amarillo in 2002 where he helped coach the Gorillas for two seasons (2002-04).
As a player, Pellerin spent the majority of his playing career in the International Hockey League (IHL) collecting 129 points (48 goals, 81 assists) and 1,080 penalty minutes in 360 games split between six seasons (1991-96, 1998-99) with the Chicago Wolves, Houston Aeros and Peoria Rivermen. Pellerin, a right wing, tallied a professional total of 357 points (135 goals, 222 assists) and 2,026 penalty minutes in 723 career games over the course of 12 seasons (1991-2003) with the British Ice Hockey Superleague (BISL), Western Professional Hockey League (WPHL), CHL and IHL.
