Rochester Americans Announce 2010-11 Preseason Schedule

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans Vice President of Hockey Operations Ted Nolan announced today that the club will play two preseason exhibition games against the Toronto Marlies in preparation for the American Hockey League's 75th anniversary season.

The "home-and-home" series kicks off on Friday, October 1st as Rochester travels to Bradford, Ontario for the first of back-to-back tilts with their longtime divisional rivals. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. at the Bob Fallis Arena.

The same two teams will meet the following night on Saturday, October 2nd as the Amerks play host to the Marlies at Gaylord Powless Arena in Ohsweken, Ontario in a 6:00 p.m. bout to bring their 2010-11 preseason schedule to a close. Admission for the contest is $7.00 per person, while children 12 and under are free. Amerks Owner Curt Styres will donate all of the proceeds to Six Nations minor youth hockey programs. Prior to the game, Nolan, Amerks Director of Player Personnel Jody Gage, Head Coach Chuck Weber and Assistant Coach Jason Cipolla will hold a youth hockey clinic at the arena from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

"I think it's going to be quite an historical event when Amerks Owner Curt Styres brings one of the most storied AHL franchises up to Canada's native territory to play against an affiliate of such a legendary NHL team in the Toronto Maple Leafs," said Nolan. "It'll be among the first, if not the first professional hockey game in the Native area."

The two oldest teams in the AHL will usher in the 2010-11 season as the Amerks and the Hershey Bears participate in the historic kick off to the AHL's 75th anniversary season. Rochester's home-opener against its longtime rival is Sunday, October 10th at The Blue Cross Arena.

Full-season ticket packages for the 2010-11 AHL season are available starting as low as $320 for 200-Upper End/Balcony level seating and range in pricing up to $650 for 100-Premium level seating.
