Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI-Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced today that the world famous Village People will perform in a post-game concert following the team's 7:00 pm game on Friday, December 3. The concert is free to attend with a game ticket.

Since 1977, the Village People have been synonymous with dance music. The world disco icons have been entertaining crowds of all ages by combining energetic choreography and outrageous fun with singing and dancing for over 33 years. They have released 10 studio albums and have sold over 100 million records world-wide.

The band first clicked in 1977 with the single, "San Francisco (You Got Me)" and then "Macho Man" in 1978. "In the Navy" and "Y.M.C.A." were global smashes, both peaking at number two on the pop charts. Overall, the Village People have had five songs reach the Billboard Hot 100. World-wide sensations during disco's heyday, the Village People have not lost a beat, touring all over the world in the past few years.

The Village People are no strangers to performing after Admiral games, playing concerts on two separate occasions during the 1990's. Their hit songs have become a part of American pop culture. These six macho men are party essentials and dancing becomes contagious anywhere they go.

On-ice passes for the Village People concert will go on sale at a later date. These passes allow fans special access to the ice where they can watch the concert from directly in front of the stage.

The performance by the Village People is the first in the Admirals concert series this season. More performances will be announced at a later date.

The Admirals kick off the home portion of the 2010-11 campaign on Saturday, October 9 and season tickets for the upcoming season are on sale now for as little as $145.
