Courtney Alexander Named Assistant Coach for Grand Rapids Drive

DETROIT, Mich. - The Detroit Pistons announced today that Courtney Alexander has been named as an assistant coach for the Grand Rapids Drive, the team's NBA G League affiliate, and that Dion Glover is being re-assigned as a pro scout for the Pistons while tending to a family health situation. Per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Alexander, a native of Bridgeport, CT, joins the Drive after serving as an assistant coach for the Erie Bayhawks last season. He has also worked with the NBA and the NBA Players Association as a consultant on various player development affairs since 2014.

Alexander was drafted by the Orlando Magic with the 13th overall selection in the first round of the 2000 NBA Draft. He played three seasons in the NBA with Dallas, Washington and New Orleans averaging 9.0 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 187 career games (59 starts). He spent two seasons collegiately at Virginia and two seasons at Fresno State averaging 18.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 112 games. Alexander led the NCAA in scoring during his final year at Fresno State.

Glover is in his fifth season with the Grand Rapids Drive and the Detroit Pistons.
