North Carolina Courage News Release
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The North Carolina Courage begin their month-long tour with three crucial points in a 1-2 win over Racing Louisville FC Saturday night at Lynn Family Stadium. The Courage are unbeaten in five straight regular season matches and now have 14 points through nine matches.
After surviving some close calls in the first half, the Courage broke through midway through the second. After a good build up through the right side, Ryan Williams played a cross to the far post where Rikke Madsen was waiting to one-time a header back across and in. Just minutes later, a gorgeous ball from Narumi put Kerolin Nicoli in and she blistered top shelf to double the advantage.
Racing got one back late in regulation off a long insert into the box that was headed home by Lauren Miliet and the home side continued to attack, but the Courage had enough to hold them off and secure all three points on the road. Casey Murphy made five stops in the win.
