Peoria Rough Riders News Release
The United Indoor Football league has officially announced the its 2006 season schedule.
Rivalry week begins March 25th as first year team, and new rival, the Bloomington Extreme open the season in Peoria at Carver Arena. This will be the first of two games with the Extreme, as Peoria will make their first trip to the Twin Cities and the new U.S. Cellular Coliseum on Saturday, May 13th.
Joining Peoria and Bloomington in the UIF's Central Division will be the Rock River Raptors. The Raptors moved from Tennessee Valley to Rockford, IL during the fall. The first battle between the former af2 teams will be April 22nd when the Rough Riders head to Rockford. The Raptors will make the return trip to Peoria on July 1st..
The Rough Riders will play defending UIF Champions, the Sioux Falls Storm, only once during the 2006 season. Peoria makes the trip to South Dakota on June 10th. May 27th the Omaha Beef will visit Carver Arena. This will mark the first time the former league champions (Peoria IFL/af2, Omaha NIFL) have met.
"I'm very excited about the 2006 schedule and the upcoming season" said Pat Ward, operator of the Peoria Rough Riders. "Opening up against Bloomington is a great way to kick off the 2006 season and this new rivalry."
The Chuck Goodwin era of Peoria Indoor Football will begin with the opening of training camp on March 10th. A complete copy of the 2006 schedule is included with this press release.

- The season ticket renewal deadline has been extended to this Friday, December 9th. New season ticket orders will be placed starting Monday, December 12th.
