Traveling to North Carolina, the Kalamazoo Wings will battle the Charlotte Checkers in a Sunday matinee. This afternoon is the first of six meetings between the teams and the first of two encounters at the Time Warner Cable Arena.
Today's contest will conclude a three-game road swing for the K-Wings. Kalamazoo is unbeaten in regulation in six road contests this season, going 6-0-1-0 during that stretch. With 15 points, Kalamazoo remains in first place in the North Division, two points ahead of Toledo.
Idle since Thursday, the Checkers are in the midst of five-game home stand. Charlotte, who is currently in fourth place in the South Division, are 1-1-1-0 during the home stand. The Checkers are led by Michel Leveille, who was recorded 10 points (6 goals, 4 assists) in seven games this season.
