Don't expect valentine's to be handed out as the Kalamazoo Wings host the Port Huron Icehawks during the 9th Annual Pink Ice Game, presented by WWMT, The CW 7 and WKFR. On the season, the K-Wings are 4-4-0-0 versus the Icehawks and are 2-1-0-0 at Wings Stadium.
Snapping a three-game road-losing streak last night against Fort Wayne, Kalamazoo has pulled even with the Muskegon Lumberjacks and Komets for second place in the league. Owning the best home record in the league (16-5-0-0), the K-Wings have won three straight games at Wings Stadium.
With an 8-1 dismantling of the Flint Generals last night, Port Huron extended their lead atop the IHL standings to three points. Port Huron's eight-goal outburst establishes their team season-high. The Icehawks have been road warriors, leading the league with 15 road victories.

Bechtol Reaches 1,000
Tonight is the 1,000th regular season game in the career of Equipment Manager Eric Bechtol. A 14-year pro, who is in his fourth-year with the K-Wings, Bechtol earned a majority of his games during his nine-year tenure in the NHL with the St. Louis Blues.
Closing in on the Century Mark
Defenseman Rod Aldoff and forward Lucas Drake are closing in on personal milestones. Both players enter the contest one goal shy of 100 in their pro career.

Defenseman Casey Handrahan and forward Rick Cleaver each enter the night on three-game point streaks. The K-Wings streaks are not only limited to players, the team is currently riding a three-game home winning streak.
