Countdown to Face-Off
Published on November 15, 2008 under International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
In a galaxy, or should we say an arena, not too far away the Kalamazoo Wings will host the Fort Wayne Komets on Star Wars Night. The K-Wings are 0-2-0-0 versus their arch-rivals this season, but like the empire, tonight is the night Kalamazoo is hoping to strike back.
Using the force last night, Kalamazoo dismantled the Flint Generals 6-1. Lucas Drake and Glenn Detulleo each pumped in four points to lead the way for the K-Wings. Jason Tapp was brilliant between the pipes turning aside 25 of the 26 shots he face to secure the victory.
After going a perfect 5-0-0-0 in October, the Komets have struggled going 2-3-0-0 in November. Fort Wayne enters the night tied with the Muskegon Lumberjacks for first place in the IHL standings. Last night, the Komets lost 5-4 to the Lumberjacks at Allen County Memorial Coliseum.

Unveiling a New Look
Prior to tonight's game, the K-Wings will unveil their new third jersey. The jerseys that will be worn for the next two seasons were submitted by fans and then voted upon online during the K-Wings Jersey Contest.
A Flip of the Cap
Forward Lucas Drake capped off a four-point night by earning the K-Wings second hat trick of the season. Drake, who recorded his 200th career point earlier in the game, finished the contest with three goals and one assist.
It's Not Delivery, It's Detulleo
Finding open teammates was not a problem last night for forward Glenn Detulleo. With four assists last night, Detulleo established a K-Wings' season-high and tied the league high for assists in a single game.
A Night of First
Last night versus Flint, rookies Bryan Jurynec and Rick Cleaver reach personal milestones. Jurynec recorded his first pro goal, while Cleaver picked up his first pro point on an assist on the same tally.
