April 23, 2006 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
After playing two games at Wings Stadium, the Kalamazoo Wings and the Motor City Mechanics will drive down I-94 to Fraser, Michigan for games three and four of Round One of the Colonial Cup Playoffs. Kalamazoo enters game three with a two games to none advantage in the series.
Kalamazoo is looking to rekindle the same magic they found at The Garage in the regular season. The K-Wings were 4-1-0 in Fraser during their five games this year, which includes two straight victories in The Garage.
While home ice was good for the K-Wings, the Mechanics are hoping the same is true for them. During the regular season, Motor City was splendid at home, as the Mechanics revved up their engines to the record of 23-12-3 in The Garage.

Oh What a Night
The K-Wings have played two UHL playoff games on April 22nd in their franchise's history. In both games, the K-Wings have shutout their opposition. Besides shutting out the Mechanics last night, the K-Wings also blanked the Fort Wayne Komets on April 22, 2004; both games were played at Wings Stadium.
Kaptain K-Wing
K-Wings Captain Nick Bootland enters today's game tied for the league lead in goals scored in the postseason. Both Bootland and Quad City's Chad Woollard have found the net three times in this postseason.
All Boxed In
Last night's game at Wings Stadium established two penalty records for the K-Wings. Kalamazoo set their UHL franchise records for most PIMS in a playoff game (59), while forward Lucas Drake set the record for most PIMS for a single player in the postseason (19).
Sunday's Best
The K-Wings are hoping for the same success in the playoffs on Sunday, that they had in the regular season. Kalamazoo was 11-0-1 this year on games played on Sunday's.
