Countdown to Face-Off
Published on March 11, 2006 under International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
It will be a battle of division rivals at Wings Stadium, as the Kalamazoo Wings host the Port Huron Flags. Tonight will be the ninth of ten meetings between the teams this season. So far the season series has belonged to Kalamazoo, as the K-Wings are 7-0-1 against their division rivals.
Kalamazoo comes into the game looking to rebound after suffering a loss to Muskegon. The 5-2 loss to the Fury was the K-Wings first regulation loss in their last nine games. Tonight will also be a first for the K-Wings, as Molly McMaster, who is playing for every team in the UHL during the UHL Cross Checks Colon Cancer promotion, will become the first female ever to suit up for Kalamazoo.
The Port Huron Flags come into tonight's action with a weight lifted off their shoulders. The Flags 5-2 victory over the Flint Generals last night snapped a six-game winless streak. Tonight is also game three of a four game road swing for Port Huron, who are currently 1-1 on the road trip.
