Game Preview

Tonight will be the rubber match of two teams heading to the postseason, as the K-Wings host the Danbury Trashers. Kalamazoo is 1-1-1 against the Trashers this season. The K-Wings defeated the Trashers 3-1 in their last encounter at the Danbury Ice Arena.

After a historic weekend, that saw the K-Wings set new UHL records for road wins (28) and longest road winning streak (12 games), the K-Wings return home looking to continue their winning ways. Kalamazoo has won an UHL current high 10 straight games and are just five points behind the Muskegon Fury for first place in both the Central Division and overall in the league. While the K-Wings have the second most points of any team in the league, if the season where to end today, Kalamazoo would find themselves as the fourth seed, as the three division winners in the UHL are guaranteed a top three seed in the first round.

Like the K-Wings, the Trashers know their season will continue into the postseason. Danbury starts the week in sixth overall in the league. The Trashers, who have four games remaining in the regular season, can still move up to the fifth seed in the UHL playoffs if they can win the remainder of their games and if the Rockford IceHogs lose the remainder of their three games.
