Kalamazoo Wings News Release
For the third time this season, the Kalamazoo Wings will wake up early, lace up their skates and play in a School Game. The K-Wings are 0-2-0 on School Day Games this season; however the K-Wings are a perfect 6-0-0 against the Beacons. Today is also the first of two consecutive games between the K-Wings and the Beacons. The two teams will meet again in Port Huron this Friday night.
Kalamazoo will be looking to extend their winning streak and try to get a step closer to the playoffs. The K-Wings, who are 5-0-1 in their last six games, have won three straight games and are riding a six-game road winning streak. Kalamazoo could make the playoffs today. The K-Wings, who are just 3 points away from clinching a post season birth, could clinch with a victory coupled with a Flint regulation or shootout loss. Kalamazoo can also clinch today with a shootout loss coupled with a Flint regulation loss.
While the K-Wings are hoping to continue a streak, the Beacons are looking to snap a streak. The Beacons enter today winless in their last 9 games. Port Huron, who is 0-8-1 in their last nine games, come into the morning game in fourth place in the Central Division and 13 points behind the Quad City Mallards for the final playoff spot in the UHL. Port Huron will be hoping that there is no place like home, as nine of the Beacons final 11 games of the season will be played at the McMorran Place Arena.

Road Warriors
Besides being unbeaten in their last six games, the K-Wings are also on a six-game road winning streak. The six-game road winning streak is the longest current streak in the UHL and just one game shy of the K-Wings UHL franchise record set earlier this season.
