Kalamazoo Wings News Release

A rivalry will get renewed as the K-Wings host the Fort Wayne Komets in the 24th Annual "World Famous" Green Ice Game Presented by Fifth-Third Bank, WOTV, and WRKR. In their storied history, this will be only the second time the teams have faced-off against each other on Green Ice.

Tonight starts a big week for the Kalamazoo Wings. The K-Wings, who end their six-game home stand tonight, will travel to Muskegon tomorrow, and than conclude the week on Saturday in Fort Wayne. Kalamazoo trails Muskegon by 10 points for first place in the Central Division; however, the K-Wings trail the Komets by just four points for third overall in the league.

Fort Wayne enters the game looking to extend their lead in the Western Division. The Komets lead the Rockford IceHogs by just one point for the division top spot. Besides fending off the IceHogs, the Komets are looking to catch both Adirondack and Muskegon, who lead Fort Wayne by six points for first place overall in the league.
