Kalamazoo Wings News Release
The Kalamazoo Wings commence "Rivalry Weekend" tonight against the Muskegon Fury. So far this season, the K-Wings have had their problems against the Fury, as the K-Wings are 0-6-0 against their intra-state rivals. Despite their record against Muskegon, the K-Wings may have the momentum they need. Coming into tonight's game, the K-Wings are two points ahead of the Fury for first place in the Central Division.
The K-Wings will be looking to extend their season high five game home winning streak. Kalamazoo has won 13 of their last 14 games. Defenseman Mark Vilneff enters tonight's game on a three game point streak. The K-Wings should receive an added boost their lineup, as both Yannick Carpentier and Mike Manley are scheduled to return. Tonight's game also starts a long stretch of home games for Kalamazoo. Eight of the K-Wings next eleven games will be played here at Wings Stadium.
The Fury come to Wings Stadium looking to end their current three-game losing streak. The three-game streak comes off the heels of Muskegon's franchise record nine game winnings streak. Muskegon's Robin Bouchard and Brant Blackned will try to extend their point streaks tonight. Bouchard has registered a point in each of his last 12 games, which is the longest current streak in the league. Blackned has earned a point in each of his last seven road games.
