Reiter And River Otters Register 3-0 Blanking Of Mallards

Buoyed by sensational goalkeeping from Kevin Reiter, the Missouri River Otters blanked the Quad City Mallards 3-0 Friday night at the Family Arena.

The River Otters came out ready to roll in the first period. The took an early lead eight minutes into the game, as Justin Quenneville picked up his own rebound and buried the puck behind Mallards goaltender Robert Gherson. The River Otters extended their lead to two goals towards the end of the period when Lars Pettersen took a terrific pass from Mark Odut and sent home his 12th goal of the season.

Quad City registered 19 shots in the second period, but Reiter had the answer for all of them.

The River Otters added an insurance goal in the third period on a power play, as Odut fired home the rebound of a Mat Snesrud for his 15th goal of the season. Reiter made 38 saves for the victory, while Gherson made 26 saves in defeat.

Missouri plays host to the Port Huron Beacons Saturday night at the Family Arena. The puck drops at 7:05 PM CST, and all the action can be heard on KSLQ 104.5 and the B2 Webcast, located at www.riverotters.com.
