Buffalo, N.Y. (February 15, 2005) — The Buffalo Bandits announced today Kyle Couling, Mark Steenhuis and Dan Teat have been selected to represent the Eastern Division at the 2005 National Lacrosse League All-Star Game on Saturday, February 26, 2005. John Tavares was named a starter for the East on February 10.

Kyle Couling will make his second consecutive all-star appearance. In five games for the Bandits this season, he has registered nine penalty minutes. Although not a great scorer, Couling's presence on the field is vital for Buffalo. Dating back to the start of last season and the 2004 Champions Cup, the Bandits hold a record of 14-6 when Couling is in the lineup, as compared to 0-5 when he is out.

"It took a while, but now people around the league are finally starting to catch on about Kyle Couling," stated Bandits General Manager Kurt Silcott. "He has been a top defenseman for a while now and is nice to see him finally getting that recognition from the rest of the league that he deserves."

Mark Steenhuis is one of the league's most prolific shorthanded scorers. He currently is tied for the league lead in shorthanded goals (2) and is ranked seventh in goals (15). The St. Catharines, Ontario native currently ranks second on the Bandits in goals (15) and fourth in points (23). Steenhuis was named the MVP of the 2004 NLL All-Star game after scoring seven points (6G, A).

"With Steenhuis' energy and excitement level, he's a natural for the all-star game," stated Silcott. "Everything about this kid says all-star. Last year, he proved himself in this game by winning the MVP award."

Dan Teat was acquired from the Minnesota Swarm prior to the 2005 season and has been nothing but spectacular since. He is currently tied for ninth in the league and second on Buffalo in assists (19). Teat also is the second leading scorer on the Bandits with 28 points.

"Dan Teat finally gets some recognition," said Silcott. "It's about time."

The Bandits next home game will be against the Philadelphia Wings at the HSBC Arena on Friday, February 25, 2005 at 7:30 PM. Ticket packages are available by calling the Buffalo Bandits Ticket Office at 1-888-467-2273, or fans can purchase packages at the HSBC Arena Box Office or any Tickets.com locations.
