Kane County Cougars News Release

GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars and Peoria Chiefs will play a regular season Midwest League game at Wrigley Field on Tuesday, July 29 at 7:05 p.m. The game is believed to be the first minor league contest in the ballpark's 94-year history.

The Peoria Chiefs, managed by former Cub and Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg, will be the home team for July's game.

Tickets will be available tomorrow at 9 a.m. on www.cubs.com and will range from $10 for Terrace Reserved seats, Upper Deck Reserved seats and the general admission bleachers; $12 for terrace box seats; and $15 for club and field box seats, bleacher box seats and upper deck box seats. A total of 280 designated premium seats, priced from $25-$30, will also be available as part of tomorrow's on-sale event.

"The Kane County Cougars are thrilled to be a part of history at Wrigley Field and are thankful to both the Cubs and Chiefs organizations for this historic event," Cougars General Manager Jeff Sedivy said. "This game will be a tremendous experience for our fans, front office staff, and especially our players and coaches."

As the only major-league affiliated team in the Chicagoland area, the Cougars have produced nearly 100 major leaguers, including Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster, who played for Kane County in 1996.

"What an opportunity for the young guys at Kane County to come out here and play a game," Dempster said. "I remember going to Kane County and I thought it was the greatest park that I ever played at in the minor leagues."

Those attending this first-of-its-kind event at Wrigley Field will have the opportunity to enjoy a number of traditional minor league ballpark promotions and activities. Fans will also be entertained between innings by Kane County mascot Ozzie T. Cougar and Peoria mascot Homer.
